New Instrument Approaches at Wausau

October 15, 2012

Well it's been a long time coming, but two new instrument approach procedures have finally been published for the Wausau Downtown Airport.

The RNAV approach to Runway 13 now has LPV minimums published, with minimums at a 200-foot ceiling and 3/4-mile visibility.  That's only 1/4 mile more than required for a standard ILS!

An entirely new RNAV approach has also been created for Runway 31.  The LPV minimums are the same as those for the RNAV to Runway 13.

The VOR/GPS-A and NDB/GPS-B approaches have both been decommisioned.

Wausau Flying Service Celebrates 20 Years

October 1, 2012

This month marks the 20th anniversary of Wausau Flying Service beginning operations at the Wausau Downtown Airport.  A lot has changed since those first days of operation.  From our first days in the old FBO building (the current CAP office) it's been a challenging and rewarding journey building our company to what it is today.

Thanks to all our loyal customers, especially those of you who have been with us since the beginning.  Here's to another 20 years!
