WFS Stall/Spin Awareness Clinic Flight Course Price Quote (based on average 3.5 flight hours)
This quote assumes that the client has attended the Wausau Flying Service, Inc. Stall/Spin Awareness Clinic and reviewed the materials included in that program prior to attempting the flight/practical portion of the WFS Stall Spin course.
We do not guarantee a pilot will earn their endorsement in 3.5 flight hours. This price quote is based on the average time it takes a WFS spin endorsement candidate to gain the proficiency to earn the spin endorsement. The cost for each individual varies with several factors such as: aptitude, frequency of flight training and pre-flight preparation. The WFS spin endorsement can be included as part of the FAA Pilot Proficiency (Wings) Program and/or a Biennial Flight Review (BFR). Most students pay as they fly, however financing may be available from your personal bank or credit union. Other financing information is available through Pilot Finance. WFS accepts as form of payment: cash, check, major credit cards. An account for monthly billing may also be arranged. This quote is based on using the WFS 7ECA Citabria, but the endorsement can also be earned in a qualified customer owned aircraft. Ask your qualified WFS tailwheel flight instructor for details.

A Clinic about Stalls/Spins & How to Avoid/Recover from Inadvertent Spin Entry NTSB and FAA statistics show that the classic “Stall/Spin” scenario is still a common cause of airplane accidents each year. The question is why? In the ground portion of this clinic, WFS Flight Instructor and FAASTeam Representative John Chmiel (NAFI MCFI) will review the stall/spin accident statistics, stall/spin aerodynamics, proper stall entry and recovery techniques, and advanced stalls. Normal spin entries, steep spirals, and the “PARE” spin recovery technique are reviewed. Stall/spin scenarios will be presented for the classic “cross-controlled” base-to-final stall, “flat footed” departure stall and the “Go Around” trim stall. Video will be used to graphically push the points home. The goals of this course: 1. To help pilots feel more comfortable with stall entries and recoveries 2. To teach pilots proper control input technique for stall/spin recovery 3. To assist pilots in recognizing stall/spin situations 4. To help pilots identify and avoid the chain of events that lead up to the classic stall/spin accident 5. To erase myths about what causes accidental stall and spins For those pilots who wish to experience advanced stalls, spins, and spin recoveries, the 3-flight, 3.5 hour flight portion of the program will then apply the knowledge reviewed in the clinic using our Champion 7ECA Citabria. With addition ground instruction & flight, CFI applicants can earn their spin endorsement. Flight Lessons will include: 1. Lesson #1 — normal & advanced stall entries/recoveries 2. Lesson #2 — normal spin entries and recoveries (1, 2 & 3 turns left & right) 3. Lesson #3 — stall/spin accident scenario entries & recoveries The pilot determines the pace of the course. If you don’t feel comfortable with stalls, if you’ve never experienced a spin, or if you would like a stall/spin refresher, this is the clinic for you. * This course counts as an FAA Safety Program (WINGS). |

*CFI applicants should add 1.0 hours of flight time ($79.13) & 2.0 hours of instruction ($60) to this quote. The 4th flight lesson in the syllabus is optional and only applies to CFI applicants who wish to earn a CFI spin endorsement. On the 4th lesson, roles are reversed and the applicant teaches a stall/spin lesson. *The WFS Stall/Spin Awareness course can be accomplished without taking the Annual Stall/Spin Awareness Clinic but $90 should be added for the additional ground instruction required. |
