We do not guarantee a student will solo in 20 hours. When a candidate is ready to solo, a Sport Pilot candidate will have to switch to a flight school with an aircraft that qualifies to finish training. These figures are only estimates of the actual cost. The cost for each individual varies with several factors such as aptitude, frequency of lessons, and pre-flight preparation. Most students pay as they fly, however, financing may be available from your personal bank or credit union. The cost for the sport pilot knowledge exam is $150.00. Current cost for a Sport Pilot Practical Test (check ride) with a local designated examiner is $300.
A sport pilot candidate can save money beginning training with WFS. Our C-150 is less expensive to rent that most Light Sport Aircraft. You can also save travel time by training locally. And if obtaining a medical certificate is not a concern, you can have all of the privileges of Sport Pilot by becoming a Recreational Pilot, where the weight restriction will not apply. |
