Wausau Flying Service is your FAA Knowledge Exam Testing Center serving Central and Northern Wisconsin.  Every FAA Knowledge Exam (Written Test) is available through WFS.  Here are some answers to common questions regarding FAA Knowledge Exams:

 

1. When can I take my FAA test at Wausau Flying Service?

            

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

*Tests must be completed by closing time unless prior arrangements are made with the Testing Proctor.

2. How much does an FAA Knowledge Exam cost?

             The fee for all FAA tests is $100.00.  Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted as forms of payment.  Test payment is made prior to beginning any test.

3. What should I bring with me for the test?

             Bring a current photo ID, your authorization to take the test (Instructor’s endorsement), an E6B (Paper or Electronic), a plotter, and a calculator.  Calculators with memory will have the batteries removed before and after the exam, so if you have something you don’t want lost, don’t bring the calculator.  We provide scratch paper and pencils.

4. How much time does the test take?

             Each test duration varies with the test taken.  Refer to your FAA study guide for exact times, or call Wausau Flying Service, or e-mail flyacub@dwave.net.

5. Will someone show me how to use the computer?

             Prior to starting the test, your proctor will review a practice test designed to familiarize you with the computer system.  There are help screens on the computer which you can use while taking your test, or you can ask your proctor questions about computer operation anytime during your test.  Your proctor cannot however, answer questions about the FAA test you are taking once it is started.

6. Do I have to make a reservation?
